The India squad for T20 World Cup 2026 has been announced and the Men in Blue will be starting their campaign from February 7 with their first match scheduled to be against United States of America (USA). The Super eight stage will be starting from February 22 in Ahmedabad. It is also important to note that both India and Pakistan will be playing their matches in a neutral venue.
As the India squad was announced, there have been five shocking exclusions – Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jitesh Sharma, Mohammed Siraj and Rishabh Pant

Shubman Gill’s performance has been under tight scrutiny especially in the T20Is, since he was added in the squad and announced as the vice-captain he has failed miserably – getting out for ducks and single-digit scores. While Yashasvi Jaiswal on the other hand had been performing consistently but he missed out due to many options already available currently.
