BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has arrived at the BCCI headquarters for the meeting. The press conference was earlier slated to be held at 1:30 PM IST.
Aakash Chopra has cleared the air on the chances of Shubman Gill being given a leadership role in India’s T20 setup. He is strongly against Gill being appointed the vice-captain to Suryakumar Yadav because, for him, it doesn’t make sense to break the continuity. Axar Patel was named the vice-captain not too long ago, and it's better to continue with him than shake things up already.

According to multiple reports, Shubman Gill is unlikely to find a spot in the squad as selectors are likely to go with Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma as openers. Tilak Varma has also performed exceptionally well in the T20 format due to which Gill is finding it difficult to make the cut.
