Melbourne: In the last fixture of the Super 12, India has played spectacularly against Zimbabwe. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav powered team put 186 runs on board and have increased the difficulties manifold.
Rahul scored 35-balls 51 runs before getting dismissed by Sikhandar Raza. During his stay on field, he hit 3 fours and 3 maximums. He was well-supported by Suryakumar Yadav who contributed with 61 runs in 25 balls.
Rohit Sharma departed early for 15 runs and Virat Kohli followed him for 26 runs in 12th over. Rishabh Pant was the new addition ot the team but he couldn’t perform and returned for 3 runs. Hardik Pandya however played 18 balls and scored same amount of the runs.
Significance of India vs Zimbabwe
India has already qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament but this game holds significance in their course. if India manages to win this game by huge margin and increase their NRR then their opponent will be New Zealand. Currently, Pakistan is standing on top with +1.028 NRR and India follows them with +0.730 NRR. The top finisher will get New Zealand while the second position holder with fight against England in the semi-finals.
