After getting a lead of 183 runs on the basis of the first innings, the Indian cricket team, coming out to bat in their second innings, maintained the rhythm from the beginning. The team wanted to reach a respectable target as soon as possible. In such a situation, Captain Rohit took over the reins and played an innings of 57 runs. Apart from Rohit, Jaiswal also contributed 38 runs. At the same time, Ishan Kishan came in place of Kohli at number four, who quickly completed his half-century and the team declared its innings for 181 runs.
