IND vs SA 5th T20I: Sanju Samson’s powerful shot hits umpire – WATCH

Earlier in the match, Samson also became the 14th Indian batter to score a big milestone of 1000 T20I runs.

Sanju Samson got a chance to play the fifth and final T20I against South Africa and he came in with guns blazing. Samson came in as a replacement of Shubman Gill who was ruled out due to toe injury he had sustained earlier. Sanju opened with Abhishek Sharma and left a huge impact as he scored 37 runs before he got dismisses by George Linde.

But one moment that caught the spotlight was when Ferreira bowled a fast delivery to Sanju Samson and he tried to play a powerful shot which directly went and hit the umpire Rohan Pandit on his knee. The umpire was left in immense pain and the South African physio rushed to the filed and treated him. Sanju Samson also rushed towards him and apologised and after a little treatement the umpire was better and the match resumed.

Earlier in the match, Samson also became the 14th Indian batter to score a big milestone of 1000 T20I runs. The list is led by former India skipper Rohit Sharma who has 4231 runs in 159 matches before he retired from the T20Is.
