India has come 2-1 ahead in the four-match T20I series with an 11-run victory. The final match is to be played in Johannesburg, and India is going to look to close the series with yet another good show.

India played its third T20I against South Africa and clinched victory taking a series lead of 2-1. Tilak Varma and Arshdeep Singh were the Stars of the show as they paved way for India’s win. Varma showed his dominance with the bat as he scored a magnificent 107 while Arshdeep Singh achieved a remarkable feat.

Arshdeep Singh Surpasses Bumrah And Bhuvneshwar

Arshdeep leaped two places ahead of two of India’s best pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, for the second place as he has managed to take 90 wickets in 86 innings, while Bumrah has taken 89 wickets in 69 innings. With an economy rate of 8.34 and average of 18.47, Arshdeep has comfortably proved himself to be one of the top bowlers in T20s for India.

India Posts Big Total

South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first; thus, India were given a tough target to chase. Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma looked in good touch, taking the score to 219/6. Though the rest of the batting line of India was not up to the mark. Andile Simelane and Keshav Maharaj from South Africa picked up two wickets each.

Proteas’ Fightback Led by Klaasen And Jansen

On a more explosive partnership between Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen, with both the batters playing aggressive strokes, South Africa chased the game forward. But, back for India, it was the bowlers, led by Arshdeep, who tightened the screws in the right moments.

Arshdeep Singh took three crucial wickets for 37 runs from his four-over spell. He bowled quite well at both the beginning and the end of the innings that disorted South Africa’s chase. Varun Chakravarthy also contributed well by taking two wickets in his four-over spell, limiting further the Proteas’ progress.

Tillak Varma: Player of the Match

Tilak Varma received the accolade of the ‘Player of the Match’ as his brilliant knock helped India post a daunting total. He steadied the innings and provided aggression towards the latter half for India as they achieved an emphatic win.
