India registered a commanding six-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday in the Super Fours of Asia Cup 2025. Chasing a target of 172 runs, the Men in Blue cruised to victory with seven balls to spare, powered by a sensational 74-run knock from Abhishek Sharma and a solid 47 from Shubman Gill.
The standout opening partnership between Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill set the tone early on. Abhishek wasted no time stamping his authority, launching the very first ball from Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi over the boundary for a massive six. Although Pakistan tried to fight back with timely wickets after the drinks break, the momentum firmly stayed with India.

In the press conference, when Suryakumar Yadav was asked about India-Pakistan rivalry, he gave a blunt reply and mentioned that it wasn't a rivalry anymore. The stats are completely different between India and Pakistan.
"To this question, I want to say one thing. I feel you all should stop asking questions about this India vs Pakistan rivalry," Suryakumar Yadav said
"According to me, if two teams are playing 15-20 matches and the scoreline is 7-7, or 8-7, then you can call it good cricket, you call it rivalry. If it’s 13-0, 10-1, I am not sure what the stat is. But, this is not a rivalry any more. I feel we played better cricket than them between 7-15, and we bowled better also," he said.
India has been dominating Pakistan since a very long time now and Indian skipper Suryakumar echoed the same as he gave a sharp reply when asked about India-Pakistan rivalry.
