The opening day of a Test between India and New Zealand was totally washed out for the first time in more than 11 and a half years, without any play. It happened on Wednesday, October 16 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru which is hosting its 25th Test match since its international debut in November 1974. Weather misfortunes continued for New Zealand as their sixth successive day of rain marred their tour of India. After rain spoiled the first day of the first-test the forecasts still indicate that weather is as likely to hinder play on the second day also.
IND Vs NZ: Second Day But Still No Play ?
AccuWeather says there’s a 14 percent chance of rain around 9 AM Thursday, which increases to 44% by 10 AM. The percentage chance of rain builds up to 51% around noon before dipping back down to 32% by 2 PM. But from 3 PM to 6 PM again, the probability is high at 36% to 51%.
As it has rained on Day 1 and no play had happened during the day, the BCCI had issued revised day/time plan for Day 2. Now, the play will start at 9:15 AM instead of the normal time of 9:30 AM. The fans may be geared to witness another rain-marred day.
As per now, there’s no rain but a thick cloud cover. It is likely that if it does not rain the play can resume but if it does another day of complete washout can be witnessed.
