The rain completely washed out the first day of the first Test match played between India and New Zealand, high optimism was reigning in the minds of the fans present at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as the day progressed. But things were there to get quickly turned around with a lot of effort from the ground staff, the stadium’s excellent drainage system catching most of the water thrown at it, with just enough improvement for the game to resume.
“Great drainage. No reminiscence at all that it rained. It has been under the covers, which means it has a lot of dampness. It is quite cold when you tough it. When you touch is slightly harder it is dry underneath. New ball could nip around early on and the spinners could get some help as well,” – opine Simon Doull and Murali Kartik
With the weather finally cooperating, the captains of both the teams went out for the toss, and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won it and chose to bat first.

The unavailability of Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan has got a chance to play. It will be great show to watch as both the teams are aiming a spot in WTC and India will be looking for a win inorder to book their sport in WTC Finals as India has had a stellar home record.
IND Vs NZ: Head-To-Head
Both India and New Zealand are strong teams in total they’ve played 62 matches out of which India has won 22 while New Zealand has won just 13. Another shocking aspect is that 27 matches has no outcome/result.
