New Delhi: After losing the first match of the 3-match series by just two runs, Ireland will square off against India in the 2nd T20I at The Village in Dublin on August 20, Sunday. Paul Stirling-led Ireland will be looking to revenge for the first match defeat. Whereas, Jasprit Bumrah’s team India will look to maintain their winning streak against the hosts.

India win 1st T20 match by two runs

In the first T20 match, rain was the wet blanket as the match was decided by the use of the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern (DLS) method. India got the advantage and emerged victorious in the first leg of the series and took the (1-0) lead over Ireland.

India vs Ireland: Weather report

The match will start at 3 pm local time in Dublin. It is a matter of relief for the fans that during the second T20 the weather is expected to be clear. In such a situation, the fans can get to see the entire match. According to Accuweather, the weather in Dublin will be completely clear from 3 pm to 7 pm. There is absolutely no chance of rain.

Rain had disrupted the first T20

The Indian team will also be hoping for better weather to give its young batsmen enough chances to show their skills. In the first match, Team India was able to play only 6.5 overs. The Indian team, captained by Bumrah, had restricted Ireland to 139 for seven in the first match, but rain in the Indian innings thereafter prevented the middle-order batsmen from taking the pitch.

Team India will come out to win the series for the third time

Team India has defeated Ireland twice before in the series on its soil. In 2018 under the leadership of Virat Kohli and in 2022 under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, the two-match series was won 2–0. If India wins the series this time too, it will be a hat-trick of series wins in Ireland. There is a chance to win the first series under Bumrah’s captaincy. He has been given the command in place of Hardik, the regular captain of the T20 format.
