IND vs ENG 2nd ODI: In the first match played between India and England in Nagpur, Virat Kohli could not be a part of the playing 11 due to a knee injury. Yashasvi Jaiswal made his debut for Team India in this match. Kohli is fully fit for the second match to be held at Barabaati Stadium. In such a situation, his playing is certain but who will be out in his place? According to a PTI report, Shreyas Iyer may have to sit out on Virat’s entry. But let us tell you why this is so.
If Virat Is IN Then Iyer Will Be OUT!
After the first match ended in Nagpur, Shreyas Iyer has revealed that he got a place in the playing 11 only because of Virat Kohli’s injury. Taking advantage of the opportunity, he took charge of the team and played a quick innings of 59 runs in 36 balls. According to PTI news, he will not get a chance to play in Cuttack even after incredible performance.

Why Will Shreyas Iyer Sit Out?
The reason that is coming out for leaving out Shreyas Iyer is the left-right combination in batting. Jaiswal’s presence in the team creates this combination and Gambhir wants a similar combination in the team’s batting order. Due to this, in the first match, Akshar Patel was sent above KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya.
In the press conference before the second match, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said about this, “This has to be decided by the head coach and the captain. Yes, the left-right combination is an important factor, but I cannot answer this”.
