New Delhi: Rain has played spoilsport in the emotionally charged clash between India and Bangladesh. Bangladesh was dominating the game when they had come to chase the target of 185 runs.

Before the rain, Bangladesh had garnered 66 runs within 7 overs after the heroics of Litton Das. He hit 7 fours and 3 sixes during his stay for just 26 balls. Indian bowlers couldn’t dismiss even a single player and thus, look in difficult situation to win the game.

Rain can make India suffer

After the 7 overs of the second innings, rain has abruptly stopped the game and it can now hamper India’s chances of winning the game. As seven have been played, there are chances that results are declared through DLS method.

What is DLS method?

When a game is stopped due to natural causes like rain, the management uses this method to declare the winner. However, it can be only applied when the second innings have been played till 6 overs.

Can India win through DLS method?

No. If rain continues to pour in Adelaide, then the result will be declared through DLS method. In that, Bangladesh is leading with 17 runs. Thus, if heaven decided to ruin India’s chances for semis, it will continue to pour.
