Team India thrashed Bangladesh by 86 runs in the second T20I of their three-match series in New Delhi on Wednesday, October 9. The home side took a 2-0 lead in the series with an all-round performance. Chasing 222 runs, Bangladesh was restricted at 135/9 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to two wicket hauls from Varun Chakravarthy and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Earlier, the Indians had, during the batting band, earned a total of 221/9, thanks to good performances by both Nitish and Rinku, batting at no.4 Nitish scored 74 off 34 balls, with four fours and seven sixes and he was declared Player of the Match. Rinku was substantial in scoring a brisk 53 off just 29 balls, with five boundaries and three sixes.
Rinku Singh On India’s Win Against Bangladesh
Speaking about his match-winning innings after the match, Rinku said that he enjoyed red-ball cricket and feels that it has been majorly going into his performance on Wednesday.
Rinku’s Mindset
“I love playing with the red ball. The way I batted right now in this match is similar to how I bat at 5-6 number when wickets fall in domestic games. So, I keep backing myself and focus on scoring runs for the team, pulling the team out of difficult situations,” he said.

Rinku Singh Praised Nitish Reddy For His Outstanding Performance
“There was a no-ball, and he hit a six on the free hit. From there, Nitish’s confidence soared. He batted with great intelligence. We were talking and enjoying a lot as well, and I told him, ‘It’s God’s plan, keep hitting,” he said.
Focusing More On Present
“There is no plan as such for now. Earlier, I started thinking too much, and things weren’t going well. So now, I am keeping myself in the present. Whatever is happening right now, I focus on that and try not to look too far ahead.”
MS Dhoni’s Special Advice To Rinku Singh
Rinku Singh’s quickfire knock was very crucial for Team India, he revealed one of the special advices he got from MS Dhoni that helped him rescue the team when it was under immense pressure.
“I have been doing this for a long time now. Be it for India, my IPL franchise, or the state team. I know what is needed when the team is in trouble. I just focus on the target,” he said.
