Mehidy’s heroics with the bat as well as the ball in Tests as well as in ODIs over the last calendar year have invited him back to T20Is after a gap of 14 months when he last played. And Bangladesh, in this series, will play without their prime all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who declared his retirement from T20s before the game against India went into the second Test against India at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

The three-match T20I series will be played in Gwalior, New Delhi, and Hyderabad on October 6, 9, and 12, respectively. When will it be an important day? The first match there will be special as it would be the first international game to be played at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium since a game was held there in 2010. That game saw Sachin Tendulkar become the first male cricketer to score a double hundred in ODIs.
Bangladesh last played India in T20Is back in 2019, where they lost the three-match series by 2-1. The last they played with India were the group matches during the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, in which Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten fifty and Kuldeep Yadav’s 3-19 paved the way for a 50-run win for India over Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.
