In the opening 10 overs of the match at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, India just tore away in a tremendous display of batting, scoring as many as 152 runs while they had just lost one wicket of Abhishek Sharma during that period. Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav fully utilized the Bangla Tamim’s bowlers, whose bowling was literally sent out of the window in flying colors by the highly prolific Indian duo. The Samson show arrived in the 10th over when he let go of unbelievably brutal onslaught against leg-spinner Rishad Hossain.

IND Vs BAN: The Samson Show
Samson started off with a dot ball and never let the over breathe after that. He dispatched five straight sixes. Initially, he exploited two badly overpitched deliveries, shooting them over the boundary with classical elegance, using his straight drive. The third six was of a flatter ball as, though he didn’t hit it perfectly, but with his sheer power it cleared the ropes again.

The fourth six came off another overpitched delivery. Samson confidently cleared front leg to clear the ball over midwicket. Rishad then switched over to around-the-wicket for the final ball. Samson was nonchalant and pulled a flat shorter delivery for yet another flat six off that for five consecutive maximums.

Sanju Samson Scores A Magnificent Century
Earlier in the seventh over, Samson had already spelt out his intentions, greeting Rishad with two boundaries and a six. Having gone for 55 runs in the second T20I, Rishad wasn’t learning any lessons in Hyderabad, where he conceded 46 runs from his very first two overs without taking a wicket.
Samson finally got his first T20 international century a few overs later, ensuring not to waste a fast start as an opener. He eventually fell for 111 off just 47 balls, slamming 11 fours and 8 sixes, in one of the most audacious displays of power-hitting. Even with Suryakumar Yadav being in good form and plenty of batting depth still to come, India sought an enormous total at this third and final T20I.
