A confident Indian squad would look to outplay Bangladesh in the second T20 International at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, New Delhi on Wednesday, October 9.

Even with some star players such as Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah rested, India was fantastic, truly showing their depth in white-ball cricket with a comprehensive seven-wicket victory in the opening match in Gwalior. Bangladesh has managed to prove nowhere near being the force they are touted to be, whereas India has been phenomenal, especially at home.

The hosts are unlikely to fiddle and make changes in their team which dominated the opening game. Mayank Yadav of course made his debut there-the aggressive pacer impressed with his breakneck-pace bowling, another newcomer, Nitish Kumar Reddy hitting and seam-bowling all-rounder, something of a rarity in Indian cricket. Arshdeep Singh has quickly shown an ability to lead the pace attack while mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy made a comeback after three years away from the national team.

IND Vs BAN: Pitch Report

The pitch at Arun Jaitely Stadium is highly suitable for pace bowlers and extremely batting friendly. It has witnessed some of the highest scores in IPL.

Earlier this year in IPL 2024, 200-mark was crossed 8 times and the most recently played matches of Delhi Premier League (DPL) witnessed the highest score of all-time that was 308/5 in a match between North Delhi Strikers vs South Delhi Superstarz.

Today, we can expect Mayank Yadav and Arshdeep Singh to be the top pace bowlers and in batting all eyes will be on Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma.

IND Vs BAN: Key Players

Arshdeep Singh: The key player who is likely to lead India’s pace attack will be Arshdeep Singh, he has the right line and length. The ability he carries to bowl perfect yorkers completely leaves the batters stunned. His last performance in the 1st T20I is a reflection of his powerful wicket-taking ability. He was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ title for his amazing performance, he took 3 wickets and gave away just 14 runs.

Mayank Yadav: The new fast bowling sensation of India, made headlines with his pace. The fastest bowl he has bowled till now is 156.7 km/h in a match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024. As a player who has represented Delhi, Mayank would be the perfect player to take advantage of his home ground as he would be completely well-versed with the conditions.

Abhishek Sharma: In batting, Abhishek Sharma is expected to do wonders with bat today, in the last T20I against Bangladesh he fell victim of an unfortunate run out but he will focus on taking complete advantage of this batters friendly pitch and bat according to his explosive nature.
