Gwalior will stage the first T20I against Bangladesh on October 6, it will be featuring IPL and Delhi cricket talents Mayank Yadav and Harshit Rana on course for international debuts. According to reports in the Indian Express, young pacers are set to get their first caps under captain Suryakumar Yadav. They might play a huge role in India’s new chapter in T20 cricket coming off the back of winning the World Cup in 2024, especially considering that both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are rested for this series.
Harshit Rana & Mayank Yadav Likely To Make Debut
One of the star performer from the IPL was Harshit Rana, who showed consistency in fast bowling for the Kolkata Knight Riders, with whom he won his third title in 2024. Another most impressive talent was Mayank Yadav, who bowlwd at a speed of 150 km/h for Lucknow Super Giants but was ruled out due to an injury.
Rana’s Consistent Bowling
Rana had traveled to Zimbabwe with a rotated squad for the T20I series earlier this summer, he did not get an opportunity to make his debut. Now, with fellow Delhi native and new India coach Gautam Gambhir at the helm, he may finally get the break having earlier worked with Rana during KKR’s championship-winning season. Rana picked 19 wickets in 13 matches-very notable during the playoff phase, when he became almost unplayable.
Speedster Mayank Yadav Deemed Fit
Yadav will be back in action after rehabilitation from an injury, as the medical team of NCA has just cleared him to play. Seen as one of the brightest prospects in Indian cricket, Yadav will join forces with his bowling coach Morne Morkel, who has become a part of Gambhir’s coaching panel.
Both these players might mark their appearance at Gwalior’s revamped Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Stadium, which is hosting international cricket match after 14 years.
