India’s top-order batters were in spotlight in the team’s practice session ahead of the second ODI against Australia in Adelaide Oval. On Tuesday, the team had an intense training session and continued to prepare for the upcoming match. The trio Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill could not perform well and collectively scored mere 18 runs for the team. After this abysmal performance, the trio sweated it out and practiced even harder in the nets.
But one of the main issue that still looms is the weather as there is a rain threat again in the 2nd ODI. The training session on Tuesday also began after lot of uncertainty. According to a report by RevSportz, the Indian team initially planned to train indoors but once the conditions improved, the ground staff quickly prepared the nets outdoor.

The fast bowlers including Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh kept their workload light and bowled only brief spells – around 15 mins each. Later, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna joined in for a gym session and avoided over exertion.
Rohit Sharma was the first one to enter the nets and he specifically worked on countering back-of-length deliveries that had troubled him in Perth, where Josh Hazelwood also dismissed him. He even spent time discussing adjustments with Shubman Gill and received technical feedback.
Virat Kohli was also out for a duck in Perth against Mitchell Starc in the first ODI. He then did an intense training session for 45 minutes and the report further added that he requested India’s throwdown specialists to “go full throttle” in order to find back is rhythm.

Gautam Gambhir was also involved in serious discussions and deliberations, he maintained a hands-on-approach throughout the session. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are now expected to lead India’s batting revival and helped India win the match in order to save the team from losing the series.
