India is currently playing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and former cricketer Harbhajan Singh feels Indian team has a good chance of winning the first Test against Australia at Perth as strong batting in the second innings would open up doors for an outright win. After a dismal home series loss to New Zealand, India have had a splendid comeback in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy opener.
Yashasvi Jaiswal And KL Rahul Form A Solid Partnership
India, on their part, reduced Australia to 104 after being bowled out for 150 in their first innings. India are now leading by 46 crucial runs as Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul started opening for the visitors and progressing steadily.
Harbhajan Singh Hopeful Of India’s WTC Final Spot
Harbhajan, who has been closely following the game, feels that if India capitalizes on their current position with a good batting display, they will be able to seal a comfortable victory. The bowling attack, led by Bumrah, was instrumental in Australia’s collapse. Besides Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and debutant Harshit Rana played crucial roles in exploiting the bounce and movement in the pitch, taking two and three wickets, respectively.
“If India win the first Test match, then the hopes of reaching the World Test Championship final will be high. Bumrah and other bowlers have bowled very well,” he concluded.
Team India’s Exceptional Bowling
“We have got an important lead. India has played really well under the captaincy of Jasprit Bumrah, bowling has been very good. If we bat well in the second innings, we can win the first Test against Australia,” Harbhajan told ANI.
Bumrah’s five wickets was the highlight as India bowled their way to a comfortable win. Harbhajan lauded the pace trio for their outstanding performance and hoped if India win in Perth, then it could be a plus point for them towards making next year’s World Test Championship final.
