Affect Of Rain Interruptions On Gabba?
Rain can significantly affect the Gabba pitch, altering its renowned pace and bounce by softening the surface, which can reduce its favorability for fast bowlers while increasing seam movement if moisture remains. Overcast and damp conditions often enhance swing, creating challenges for batters in judging the bounce and pace. A wet outfield slows the ball, making boundaries harder to score and fielding more difficult due to slipping risks. However, the Gabba’s excellent drainage system ensures that rain delays are typically minimal, allowing play to resume quickly once the weather clears.
