David Warner: Australia’s legendary batsman David Warner in a big statement said he wants to say goodbye to Test cricket against Pakistan at his home ground Sydney Cricket Ground in 2024. The 2024 T20 World Cup would be his last game in the Australian jersey.

However, considering Warner’s recent Test form, even the Sydney Test is not guaranteed. Warner is preparing up for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against India next week. This will be followed by the Ashes series against England.

He had performed poorly in recent test matches. Earlier, Warner in a statement said that he has always said that the 2024 T20 World Cup will be his last game.

“If I can score runs, I can continue to play in Australia. Then I can say that I will not play in the West Indies Test series, but if I make it to the Pakistan series, I can end my career,” said Warner.

Warner played his 100th Test against South Africa at the MCG lastyear. He scored a double century in the Boxing Day Test. In March, Ricky Ponting said that the double century was the ideal opportunity for Warner to bid farewell to red-ball cricket. It was Warner’s first century since January 2020.
