Harmanpreet Kaur & Yuvraj Singh to get special recognition from Punjab Cricket Association on India vs South Africa 4th T20I

Harmanpreet Kaur and Yuvraj Singh will be honoured by Punjab Cricket Association on the 4th T20I between India and South Africa which will be held at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Yuvraj Singh

Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) is planning to do a big thing to pay tribute to India's two World Cup legends. Siddhant Sharma, the Secretary of the PCA, confirmed on Saturday that the PCA Stadium will have two new stands with the names of Harmanpreet and Yuvraj, who are going to be honoured because of the cricketers whose impact was most significant in Punjab. On December 11, the stands will be revealed just before the fourth T20I match between India and South Africa at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.

PCA Secretary Siddhant Sharma's statement

“Harmanpreet Kaur will be honoured for her achievement in winning the World Cup and we have announced that a stand will be named after her. On the 11th, during the India–South Africa match, we will inaugurate it. Along with that, a stand named after our former player and two-time World Cup champion, Yuvraj Singh, will also be inaugurated on the same day,” Sharma was quoted by Times of India, telling IANS.

“A stand being named after them is a tiny thing compared to the big feat that they’ve achieved for the nation. This is a small token from us to them in recognition of their achievements,” Sharma added.

He reckoned this step will inspire the next generation. “The up-and-coming players will gain inspiration from cricketers like Harmanpreet, Smriti Mandhana, and Jemimah. They’re the ones who motivate the young girls… We also have some surprises coming up for everyone.”

Tribute For These Two Star Players

This major gesture is an honour these two players since the victorious Harmanpreet is the captain of the present women Indian team who led these women to be crowned with a maiden world championship in the realm of women cricket earlier in this month in Navi Mumbai where the final was won by the hosts over South Africa which marked the commencement of a new era in Indian women cricket. On the other hand, Yuvraj still stands out as one of the most accomplished all-rounders in India, as he has won two World Cups, which are the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.
