Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians will engage in a do-or-die IPL 2025 Eliminator match at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on Friday. The winner of this encounter will advance to play Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2, with a much-desired place in the final at stake. RCB, however, became the first team to secure their spot in the grand finale by defeating Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1 on Thursday with an all-round performance.
Gujarat Titans And Mumbai Indians To Play Eliminator
Gujarat Titans looked set to top the league table, but consecutive losses in their last group matches spoiled their title ambitions and plunged them into the Eliminator. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians after a promising mid-season stretch under-performed in two of their last three games. Consequently, Hardik Pandya’s team settled for fourth spot at the group stage’s conclusion.
Weather Report: Will Rain Spoil The Eliminator?
Fans can relax as the weather in Mullanpur will likely be clear for Friday’s match. The forecast is indicating only a slight possibility of rain, so a complete game is very probable. Temperatures are likely to rise to a high of 37 degrees Celsius and fall to around 25 degrees Celsius later in the night, but no significant disruption to the weather is expected.
RCB and PBKS had played without interruption due to bad weather at the same stadium only a day before, strengthening optimism for the uninterrupted conduct of the Eliminator.

What If Rain Cancels the Match?
If rain does come and the game is washed out without a winner, Gujarat Titans will get a direct entry into Qualifier 2. That’s because GT had a higher league finish than MI. Although both teams are placed in the Eliminator, Gujarat finished third and Mumbai finished fourth, so they have the advantage in case of a washout.
No Reserve Day For Eliminator Clash
Unlike the final, the IPL Eliminator does not have a designated reserve day. With Qualifier 2 scheduled for Sunday in Ahmedabad, the tight playoff calendar offers no window for rescheduling. Therefore, if the Eliminator is washed out, Gujarat moves forward and Mumbai’s campaign comes to an abrupt end.
