Indian Team head coach Gautam Gambhir has given strong message ahead of the T20 World Cup which will be held in 2026. BCCI released a brief teaser of his interview where Gambhir stressed on the importance of fitness among players. He mentioned that the dressing room has been very honest but India still hasn’t reached the level of preparedness for 2026 World Cup.
“It has been a very transparent dressing room, it has been a very honest dressing room and that is how we want this dressing room to be. I think we still aren’t where we want to be come the T20 World Cup,”
“Hopefully guys know the importance of being fit. We still have three months to be where we want to be,” he added.
The T20 World Cup will be played in India and Sri Lanka in February and March next year. In a recently released report by Cricbuzz, Ahmedabad and Kolkata have been shortlisted as host for semi-final for the T20 World Cup. The venue for Final remains undecided and it will be only decided according to the teams qualifying.
For now, India’s focus has shifted to Test series against South Africa which will be starting from November 14. Following which India will play ODI series against the Proteas.
