There are five bowlers that stand out and are in contention to attract big bids as the teams fine-tune their combinations for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The IPL 2026 mini-auction for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is all set to be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. The franchises are all locked in to strengthen their squads and find the perfect players that would fill in the required spots. . A total of 77 slots are available to fill with the teams collectively allowed to spend up to INR237.55 crores as they look to complete the team.

Matheesha Pathirana (Sri Lanka)

The former CSK bowlers is known for his slingy auction and pace, he has already proven his importance by getting crucial breakthroughs when needed under pressure. Even though he has been released due to some fitness concerns, his tract record in IPL has been quite impressive. In 32 matches, Pathirana has taken 47 wickets and has emerged as match-winner many times.

Ravi Bishnoi (India)

Ravi Bishnoi was released by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and this decision raised a lot of eyebrows but his value in the auction pool remains very high. He is one of the few-capped spinners from India that can attract strongest interest from teams like Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Overall in his IPL career, Bishnoi has 72 wickets in 77 matches with an economy of 8.21.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Aghanistan)

The renowned bowler from Afghanistan is known for his deceptive mystery spin and he brings in both quality and experience. With 20 IPL matches under his belt and wickets coming at a steady rate, he offers franchises a reliable spin option in powerplays and middle overs.

Ashok Sharma (India)

The Indian bowler from Rajasthan topped the wicket-taking charts in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025. The 23-year old has claimed 19 wickets in just 7 matches which also included four-wicket hauls and two three-wicket hauls.

Aaqib Khan (India)

The 21-year old pacer who hails from Uttar Pradesh has played 19 first-class matches and has taken more than fifty wickets along with 24 wickets in white-ball cricket. Many franchises will be eyeing such young talents and he is most likely going to catch their attention.
