Sydney: Pakistan has stormed into the final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 and it hasn’t been an easy journey there. In the semi-final, Babar Azam-led Pakistan defeated New Zealand with dominance and class cricket to reach the final of the tournament.
However, their journey hasn’t been this smooth. Pakistan started the tournament with two consecutive defeats. First, India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets and gave them first setback.
Defeat against Zimbabwe – A Major Setback
Second incident was most unexpected when they lost to Zimbabwe by 1 run. It came as big shock to the cricket world as well as the Pakistan team. It was so heart-breaking that Pakistan player was seen on his knees crying after after the defeat.

Though, Babar Azam showed the skills of a captain and gave his side much needed confidence and motivation. Many dressing room chat went viral where Azam could be seen that we played well and it’s okay. Motivated with this, Pakistan then defeated the then unbeaten South Africa by 33 runs to show their real skillset.
Netherlands gives them BIG help
Netherlands did a big favor to Pakistan when they turned the tables around second time in the T20 World Cup 2022. Dutch boys defeated South Africa by 13 runs and sent out a strong message that ‘anything is possible.’ The loss of South Africa cleared way for Pakistan to reach the semi-finals, all they had to do was defeat Bangladesh.
Men in Green did their job exceptionally well and booked their berth in semi-finals along side their arch-rival India.

It wasn’t easy. Indeed. But where there is Pakistan there are endless possibilities. Emotionally charged Pakistan took up the challenge against New Zealand and fulfilled it with great wit and determination.

From the very start of the game, Pakistan dominated the semi-final as they dismissed many of their prominent players. Batting first, Kiwis lost early wickets of Finn Allen, Glenn Phillips and Devon Conway. Shaheen Shah Afridi choked the opposition and got his team brilliant results.
When Pakistan has come to bat against New Zealand, they garnered 105 runs for the opening wicket. Pakistan batter Babar Azam finally came back in form and scored 53 runs playing 42 balls, giving great support to Mohammad Rizwan.
