New Delhi: BCCI secretary Jay Shah recently made a declaration that India won’t be travelling to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023. After this, there have been a lot of unrest amongst the authorities.
Adding to that debate, former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has reacted and asked ‘what’s the point of ICC?’
“What’s the point of ICC? Scrap the Asia Cup if that’s the case. We are in Asia. We will only benefit from playing each other. You shouldn’t bring politics into cricket. I request everyone for the sake of players. This pick-and-choose policy is wrong, you should stop playing cricket otherwise,” he said while questioning Jay’s Shah comment.
India can’t dictate how Pakistan will play – Wasim Akram
Earlier, Wasim Akram had said, “India cannot dictate on how Pakistan play their cricket. For 10-15 years, much cricket did not take place in Pakistan and now teams have finally started touring Pakistan. I am all for their difference, I am an ex-cricketer and sportsperson, I don’t know whats happening on the political front. But people to people contact is very important.”
