The Indian cricket is currently going through a transition phase in which one of the biggest change was of two legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retiring from Tests and T20Is. Following their departure, Shubman Gill was appointed as the captain of India's Test team. Gill guided India towards 2-2 draw against England in five-match Test series.

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be seen playing the ODI format and there is a possibility that they might play 2027 ODI World Cup. Now the duo are aiming for three-match ODI series against Australia but just ahead of the matches India's squad was announced where one of the most shocking decision was Rohit Sharma getting replaced by Shubman Gill as the ODI captain.

Amid all these changes, former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary has made a bold clain that first Virat felt neglected from BCCI and then decided to retire from Test cricket - a format which was very dear to him. He now fears that Rohit might also face the same treatment if the board doesn't give him adequate respect.

"Why would Virat have left Test cricket? He had already started preparing mentally for the upcoming England series. But the environment, the situation around him in Indian cricket, made him feel unwanted. When a player, no matter how big he is, starts feeling that he's not needed or respected, a player with self-respect and dignity will never continue," Tiwary told CricTracker.

"That's exactly why Virat quietly stepped away from Test cricket, not out of frustration, but out of self-respect. And if things continue the same way, I honestly think there’s a possibility that Rohit might also take that step in the future, not because he wants to, but because no great player should be made to stay where he feels disrespected."
