Saurav Ganguly playing 11: The Asia Cup will be starting from August 30, The Indian team will start the tournament against Pakistan (IND vs. PAK) on September 3. BCCI has announced a squad of 17 players for the tournament following which people have started forecasting their own playing 11. Meanwhile, former Indian Captain  Sourav Ganguly has picked his playing 11.

Sourav Ganguly included experienced players in his team as he feels that in big tournaments players should know how to handle the pressure. He has included Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul in the team who are returning after months.

Batting option 

Saurav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill will open, with Virat Kohli to come at number three. In the middle order, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will play. Ganguly has included both Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel in the lower order. Hardik Pandya is also in his team as an all-rounder. 

Ganguly went with two fast bowlers

Considering the spin-friendly pitch of Sri Lanka, Sourav Ganguly has given place to three spinners in the team. Which includes Jadeja, Akshar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav. He has included Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammed Shami as fast bowlers. Hardik Pandya can also bowl a few overs.
