England batters have truly done wonders and shattered multiple records. Harry Brook notched up his maiden double century in Test cricket on the fourth day of the first Test against Pakistan in Multan.
Brook’s innings, come after a 350+ stand with double-centurion Joe Root, placed England past the 550-run mark. He batted after Ben Duckett fell at 249/3 on Day 3, carrying on what Zak Crawley, Duckett, and Root had started in a brave display.
Harry Brook’s Maiden Double Ton Against Pakistan
Brook celebrated his century off just 118 balls despite Pakistan opting for a second new ball. He remained unbeaten at the close of Day 3 and completed his double-century on Day 4. Brook, though an important middle-order bat, is a product of Bazball-an era rich in centuries and half-centuries. He has six centuries and nine half-centuries to his name.

In just 19 Tests, Brook has scored more than 1,750 runs at an average of better than 55, with a strike rate over 86. His form against Pakistan is special; he averages over 100 in four matches. Brook now shares the record for the most centuries by an overseas player in Pakistan’s Test cricket history, scoring four tons in just six innings.
He achieved this milestone faster than his contemporaries Mohinder Amarnath and Aravinda de Silva managed the same feat – four centuries and took over 17 innings to reach that milestone. It was a testament to Brook’s superiority as he absolutely trounced Pakistan bowling.
