India and England will clash again as the attention now shifts to the pivotal fourth Test that will be held at Manchester’s Old Trafford from July 23 to July 27, 2025. With England already leading 2-1, the pressure is now on India to keep the series alive. But the English weather and the Old Trafford conditions are likely to be major factors in deciding the fate of the match.
Rain Threat Hangs Over Opening Days
The meteorological outlook for the first two days of the Test appears to indicate a strong possibility of interruptions. Day 1 will be cloudy with about 39% chance of rain, especially during the morning. These conditions could cut down play time and will favour seam bowlers. Day 2 appears even more volatile, with more than 50% cloud cover and higher chances of showers during the afternoon. Teams will have to be ready for rain interruptions and change their strategy accordingly.
Clearer Skies Expected Mid-Test
Better news, however, is in store for Days 3 and 4, when uninterrupted cricket is expected. Conditions on these two days will be sunny with minimal to no possibility of rain. It will get slightly warmer, and the pitch should settle, making it more conductive to batting. These two days may become the deciding factor in determining the outcome of the Test, especially if time is lost in the early part of the match.

Light Rain Likely On Day 5
As the match nears its conclusion on Day 5, the weather is also predicted to turn overcast. Light rain is in the forecast, which can affect play in the second part of the day. If the match is hangs in the balance, the cloud cover and possible rain delays may ensure a nail-biting and unpredictable conclusion.
