On the fifth day of 4th Test, a controversy erupted before the match ended in a draw, with Ben Stokes and co. in spotlight for their questionable tactics to end the match as soon as possible, just when Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar were on the verge of achieving their respective centuries.
India came in to bat in the second innings and received a massive setback with two consecutive wickets as both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan fell for a duck. But Shubman Gill and co. made a solid comeback, first Shubman Gill (103) and KL Rahul (90) stitched a strong partnership, following which Ravindra Jadeja (107) and Washington Sundar (101) led the match towards a much-needed draw. The Jadeja-Sundar duo gave India the hope for the fifth Test as the team now has the chance to level the series.
In the video that caught the stump mic conversation, the England players were seen to be visibly frustrated because the Indian batters decided to continue even when the Englishmen asked for a draw.
In the conversation, when the Englishmen were talking about the draw, Ravindra Jadeja said, “I can’t decide anything” so the England team mates replied “shake our hands then, you wanna stay out for your hundred”, they further asked “how long do you need, an hour?”
Jadeja replied and said, “I can’t say I don’t want to play” then Ben Stokes comes and says “You’re gonna get a Test hundred against Harry Brook? while other urged him and said “Jaddu shake your hands, its done.”

The England players were trying to force on India, but both Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar stood tall and kept going. The duo made sure they didn’t succumb to the pressure which was constantly created by England.
