New Delhi: Online streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar announced that it would stream Asia Cup 2023, and, World Cup 2023 for free on mobile devices. 

Users will not have to take any subscription to watch Asia Cup and One Day International World Cup, but if they want to stream it on a laptop or smart TV then they will have to pay.

According to Sajith Sivanandan, Head of Disney+ Hotstar, the platform has been at the forefront of the fast-growing OTT industry in India and has been upgrading continuously to enhance the viewer’s experience. 

The step to stream free would develop an ecosystem of users for the Asia Cup and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, said Sivanandan

World Cup will be played in October

The ODI World Cup 2023 will be played in India in October-November. A total of 10 teams will participate in the tournament, out of which 8 teams have qualified directly, while the remaining teams will be selected through qualifiers which are scheduled to be played in July.
