Outer Delhi Warriors produced a clinical bowling performance, led by Suyash Sharma and Shaurya Malik, to defeat Purani Dilli 6 by 82 runs in the sixth match of Season 2 of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday.
Fired-Up Warriors Defend A Modest Total With Precision
After scoring a modest 149, Outer Delhi did not waste any time in taking the game away with the ball. Young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma triggered an early collapse during the powerplay, sending back three top-order batters—Samarth Seth (18), captain Vansh Bedi (1), and Pranav Pant (6). Aarush Malhotra (5) also fell within the first six overs, as Purani Dilli were left reeling at 31/4.

Middle-Order Collapse Seals Purani Dilli’s Fate
The slide continued with a disastrous mix-up resulting in Dev Lakra (5) being run out in the eighth over. In a heartbreaking blow, the next over, pacer Shaurya Malik struck a double wicket, having Yug Gupta (1) and Ekansh Dobal (0) out off two successive balls. He then got Aayush Singh (4) leg-before, leaving Purani Dilli struggling at 50/8.
Suyash claimed his fourth wicket by dismissing Rajneesh Dadar (5) back, while Harsh Tyagi wrapped up Lalit Yadav (20), the lone batter to provide some resistance. Purani Dilli 6 were bowled out for 66 in 14.3 overs, suffering a heavy loss.
Solid Start Fizzles Out For Outer Delhi Warriors
Earlier in the match, Outer Delhi had won the toss and decided to bat. Opener Priyansh Arya (16) and Sanat Sangwan (26) gave the team a flying start, taking on the bowlers from the very first over. Both were dismissed by Rajneesh Dadar in the sixth over, which led to a top and middle-order collapse. After a good beginning, the Warriors fell to 108/7 in the 15th over.
Udhav Mohan’s Fifer Keeps Outer Delhi At Bay
Purani Dilli 6 was blessed with a hero in the form of Udhav Mohan, whose fine bowling spell of 5/26 from 4 overs shattered Outer Delhi’s lower and middle order. But for Outer Delhi, Siddhant Sharma (21) and Harsh Tyagi (17) contributed timely late runs to take the side to 148, before being bowled out in the last over.
Suyash And Shaurya Shine in One-Sided Affair
Although Purani Dilli 6 were in command at the midpoint of the first innings, Outer Delhi’s bowlers – particularly Suyash and Shaurya took over the game and made it one-sided with their phenomenal bowling. Their combined brilliance made Outer Delhi’s score of 149 more than sufficient.
