The Delhi Premier League (DPL) witnessed another thrilling match as Sumit Kumar Beniwal produced an outrageous spell of fast bowling, guiding South Delhi Superstarz to a comprehensive 46-run victory against Purani Dilli 6 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Sumit Beniwal Shines With Five-For
Defending a competitive total of 184, South Delhi’s pacers, led by Beniwal, came out firing. The right-arm quick tore through the top order during the powerplay, removing key batters in quick succession and leaving Purani Dilli 6 reeling at 28 for 6 within the first eight overs. His pace and precision proved too much to handle, and the wickets kept tumbling.
Ekansh Dobal Tries To Could Not Take Purani Dilli 6 Towards A Win
Beniwal ended with impressive returns of 5 for 19 off his four overs, and Abhishek Khandelwal (4/31) added to the misery of Purani Dilli 6’s pursuit. Ekansh Dobal was the lone warrior, fighting his way to a gritty half-century. Dobal combined to form a 46-run partnership with Lalit Yadav (22 off 28), giving renewed hopes for a while before Beniwal came back to get Yadav and end the stand. Finally, Purani Dilli 6 collapsed at a mere score of 138.

South Delhi Superstarz Post A Competitive Total
South Delhi Superstarz had posted a target of 184 earlier in the day after opting to bat first. Anmol Sharma and Ankur Kaushik, the openers, provided a solid platform with their 70-run stand. Sharma was the pace-setter with a beautifully composed 50, underpinning the innings as wickets fell around him. After a mid-innings slump, a late burst by Vision Panchal, who made a breezy 27, took the score over 180.
With the ball, Lalit Yadav (3/24) and Rajneesh Dadar (3/30) were the highlights for Purani Dilli 6, frequently hitting to restrict South Delhi from scoring 200.
