The much-awaited Match 34 of the Delhi Premier League Season 2 between the South Delhi Superstarz and West Delhi Lions was abandoned because of rain on Monday.
In a statement, the DPL confirmed: “Delhi Premier League Season 2 Match 34 between West Delhi Lions and South Delhi Superstarz has been called off due to rain.”
Consequently, both sides received one point each. This result places West Delhi Lions third on the table with 10 points and South Delhi Superstarz at fifth position with eight points.
The match was already shortened to seven overs and batting first, West Delhi Lions set a competitive total of 98/7 in 7 overs. With Nitish Rana (25), Ankit Rajesh Kumar (18), Hritik Shokeen (15) and Tishant Dabla (16) helping the Lions reach a good target. When South Delhi Superstarz came in to bat, Ayush Badoni (14) and Anmol Sharma (18) were dismissed with Kunwar Biduri and Tejasvi still batting to chase the target. But the second innings could not be completed as the rain spoiled the match and eventually it was abandoned.

West Delhi Lions are very well positioned in the points table at the third position with 10 points, while the South Delhi Superstarz are at 5th spot with 8 points. In order to qualify now the Superstarz need to win both their upcoming matches.
