Opting to bat first, the Tigers faced an early setback with opener Dhruv Kaushik getting dismissed at a mere score of 5 runs. However, the team made a strong comeback with captain Himmat Singh and Shivam Gupta forming a strong 150+ partnership. The duo played a match-defining knock, with Shivam hitting 89 off 53 balls, which included 8 boundaries and 4 sixes. Skipper Himmat Singh, on the other hand, scored 69 runs off 39 balls, providing stability to his team.

Even though the New Delhi Tigers lost wickets in the middle, an effective cameo from Keshav Dalal, who scored 19 off just 9 balls, helped lifting the total to 222. It was also the first 200+ target set by a team in DPL season 2.

One of the standout players for the Outer Delhi Warriors was Anshuman Hooda, who picked up his first fifer of Season 2. He was the only bowler who could keep the Tigers under pressure and grabbed all the spotlight.

In response, the Warriors started strong with openers Priyansh Arya (26) and Sanat Sangwan (48) establishing a strong 69-run partnership. However, once it was broken, the Tigers did not let any other batter stabilise and score big. Shreshth Yadav (37) and Dhruv Singh (38) fought hard to chase the target but their efforts were in vain.
