Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be back in action after seven months hiatus from international cricket and the debate is already going strong in the next ODI World Cup. With Rohit Sharma ranked third and Virat Kohli ranked fifth in ICC ODI batter rankings – there is a strong possibility that the duo might continue till 2027 ODI World Cup.
Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik seems to be confident about atleast one of them. He recently revealed during an Instagram session that Virat Kohli is determined to continue in the Indian jersey at the 2027 World Cup.
“In London, he was training during this big layoff that he’s had after a long time in his life,” Karthik said. “And I also know he was practising cricket easily, two to three sessions a week.”
“That tells you the man is serious about wanting to play this World Cup,” Karthik added.
Karthik also emphasised on Kohli’s unmatched composure in the pressure situation stating that his presence in the team offers a sense of calm and confidence.
“And if he is around, there is no tension, according to me, because he knows what it takes to perform under pressure. And he’s done that time and time again. And I’m very confident he will do it again,” Karthik said.
