Lucknow Super Giants newly appointed spinner Digvesh Singh Rathi has been fined again for his notebook celebration. Digvesh was first fined when he was playing against Punjab Kings and dismissed Priyansh Arya. He first did that notebook celebration due to which he faced BCCI’s punishment.
In match against Mumbai Indians, Rathi didn’t hold back and did the celebration again as he dismissed Naman Dhir.
This was his second Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 this season and hence, he has accumulated Two Demerit Points, in addition to One Demerit Point which he accumulated during LSG’s match against Punjab Kings on April 01, 2025,” the IPL stated on Saturday.

How Much Money Will Digvesh Singh Rathi Lose?
Digvesh Singh Rathi was picked at a base price for INR 30 lakh in IPL mega auction and he has been fined 50% of his match fees. This means that he has already lost 15 lakhs.
What Happens If He Does The Celebration Again?
Digvesh Singh Rathi already got one demerit point when he was fined the first time, now he did the same again so even though he was away from the batter BCCI’s has given him two merit points. Rathi has to be now extremely careful as one more demerit point and he is out of the next match.
According to the IPL Code of Conduct, four demerit points are equal to one suspension point, so a player is suspended for one game once this number is attained. Because demerit points remain on a player’s record for 36 months, Rathi has to be careful in the forthcoming seasons.
