The Delhi Capitals posted a score of 188/5 batting first, the 23-run over from Sandeep Sharma during the last over of the match became an expensive mistake for Rajasthan because it brought Delhi’s total dangerously close to 190.
Delhi Batters Set Up A Competitive Total
Abhishek Porel scored 49 runs from just 37 balls and KL Rahul accumulated 38 runs from his 32-ball innings. The death overs of the innings became a highlight because captain Axar Patel hammered 34 runs from 14 balls while Tristan Stubbs remained not out with 34 runs from 18 balls. During their chase, Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 61 runs together in the opening powerplay.

“It feels alright. I was just not ready to come back and bat here. We’ll observe it tomorrow and see how it is. I think we bowled really well. There were phases where they came hard at us. But I would like to give credit to all our bowlers and fielders. I thought that score was definitely chaseable but as we all saw it was a fantastic over from Starcy. I’d like to give it to Starcy, I think he won the game for them in the 20th over. [Super Over] The plan was to swing hard. You know he’s going to come hard at you so we had to go harder at him. [On Sandeep] I think he has been bowling the toughest overs for me for the last few years. I am very fortunate to have someone like him with me. Rajasthan Royals looked strong enough to chase the target but Starc used his expertise to deliver successive yorkers which brought Rajasthan to just 188/4 and gave rise to a Super Over scenario.
