Delhi Capitals received their first loss of the season as their batting order completely collapsed in the 19th over, following which Mumbai Indians won by 12 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Chasing a target of 206, DC started on a high-note with Karun Nair taking the charge as he slammed 89 off 40 balls.
But Karun Nair’s innings witnessed some tensions getting flared up between him and Jasprit Bumrah. The flashpoint came when a minor collision at the non-strikers end when Nair was completing a second run. Bumrah was clearly annoyed and he confronted Karun and there was heated confrontation. The heated situation didn’t distract Nair and he kept on punishing Mumbai bowlers with his power-hitting. He also put up a 119-run partnership with Abhishek Porel but he lost his wicket while trying to play a big-shot at the score of 89.
