Al Nassr advanced to the Asian Champions League semi-finals with a dominating 4-1 victory over Japan’s Yokohama F-Marinos on Saturday, joining the third Saudi club to make it to the last four. Al-Nassr’s victory was led by their top performer Cristiano Ronaldo. Al Nassr took the lead in the 27th minute after Jhon Duran placed the ball after Thomas Deng’s errant clearance of a Sadio Mane cross ricocheted off the post and fell nicely for the Colombian.

Ronaldo continued with his stellar form, scoring Al Nassr’s third of the evening. The 40-year-old seized on seven minutes before halftime, responding fastest after Marcelo Brozovic’s deflected shot was pushed awkwardly back into the air by Yokohama ‘keeper Park Il-gyu. Ronaldo headed in from a few yards out, taking his total to eight in seven games in this year’s Champions League Elite, a single behind joint leading scorers Riyad Mahrez, Salem Al-Dawsari, Anderson, and Jasir Asani.

The Portuguese striker had already made himself known earlier in the game, astutely back-heeling a pass into Brozovic’s path to open up an early chance, only to be thwarted by Park.
Yokohama, the runners-up last year and recently having let go of former-England assistant coach Steve Holland, struggled all through. Just minutes later, Otavio launched a quick break and fed Mane, who lashed a low shot past Park at the near post to double the lead. Ronaldo led a swift counter attack and Park initially saved the first attempt, but Duran was on hand to fire in the rebound and make it 4-0.
