New Delhi: While entering in the T20 World Cup 2022, Pakistan was one of the favorites to reach the semi-finals of the tournament. Though, their first two defeats in the game hurt their chances badly moving forward.

Unexpected twists in T20 World Cup 2022

Their chances hung in the hands of the other teams and as fate had decided, miracles happened. First, Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan by 1 run and pushed them down on the Points table. However, they kept up with the hopes and defeated South Africa who had not lost against anyone else.

In a sudden turn of events, Netherlands went on to defeat one of the strongest cricket team, South Africa by 13 runs. It cleared Pakistan way to the semi-finals, all they had to do was defeating Bangladesh. Babar Azam-led team has done it beautifully and booked their spot in the next stage.

After winning against Bangladesh, Babar Azam said, “It’s a team game. Cricket is a funny game. Appreciate all my team the way they played all matches.”

Commenting on the game, he said, “Pitch wasn’t easy to bat on. Little bit two-paced. Me and Rizwan decided to go long, but unfortunately didn’t work out. Haris showed aggression, good to see him play. Looking forward to the semifinals. All of us are excited to play.”

Pakistan defeat Bangladesh by 5 wickets

Choosing to bat first, Bangladesh had opted to bat first but couldn’t make more than 127 runs against Pakistan. The batters of the team chased the score with wit and determination and won the game.

Shaheen Shah Afridi powered team defeated Bangladesh by 5 wickets to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. Pakistan bowlers had restricted Bangladesh at 127 runs and batsmen did not take long to chase the target.
