On Wednesday, January 22, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released a thrilling teaser for the Champions Trophy, which has been making waves ahead of the highly anticipated eight-team tournament that begins on February 19. The teaser, which became viral in no time, features players such as Hardik Pandya, Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Phil Salt.
In an exciting concept of a heist, fashioned like a museum heist, the teaser unfolds the story in which Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan, sneaking through a high-security building, take away the trophy, the coveted Champions Trophy. Hardik Pandya enters and sees Shaheen hanging from the ceiling as the intense rivalry between India and Pakistan unfolds. The Champions Trophy is sitting inside a laser-protected room. Then the mayhem begins as Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi and England’s Phil Salt are involved, culminating in Hardik’s last statement that he is enjoying the competition.

The Champions Trophy, back after an eight-year gap, will be held between February 19 and March 9, in Pakistan and Dubai. India is scheduled to face Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20. Meanwhile, the opener of the tournament will feature Pakistan against New Zealand in Karachi on February 19.
As the current defending champions, Pakistan is really eager to maintain its title for itself as the country won the first ICC 50-over trophy since the World Cup of 1992 in 2017 against India and will face it again in this final. Pakistani squad key man Shaheen Afridi talks about the commitment to defend his crown, whereas Indian Hardik Pandya mentions how important Champions Trophy is in return to cricket.
