It is expected that India will be announcing their squad for the Champions Trophy around January 12 which is also the deadline date for all the teams to submit their 15-players provincial squad.
“All teams need to submit their provisional squads by January 12 but (are) allowed to make changes till February 13. It is up to the teams whether they want to announce the squad or or not as the International Cricket Council (ICC) will release the submitted squads only on February 13,” said an ICC official to the Times of India.
The report by TOI further mentioned that Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be named as the Vice-captain this means that the selectors will not be considering Hardik Pandya or KL Rahul for the position. It is going to be an extremely tough call for the selectors as the list of contenders will be huge and the slots are very limited.
