The debate is getting all heated up about India’s stance on not visiting to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025. Recently, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh weighed in on Pakistan’s stand on not travelling to India for any ICC event in future. The two nations have been constantly in spotlight because of the ongoing debate on the final venue of Champions Trophy.
India Not Travelling To Pakistan Due To Security Concerns
The BCCI has made it clear that India will not be travelling to Pakistan for the upcoming tournament due to security concerns. Pakistan on the other hand has stood firm to not accept the hybrid model, but in recent developments its is likely that Pakistan will be accepting the hybrid model but with certain set of demands and conditions.
Harbhajan Singh’s Bold Take On Pakistan’s Stand
Opining on the same issue Harbhajan told Sports Today that,
“Don’t come to India if you don’t want to, we don’t have any issues. If Pakistan doesn’t come to India, it won’t matter much. You may ask current cricketers and they will have the same opinion. Had the situation in Pakistan been different, things could have been different.”
Harbhajan Singh Praises Pakistan As Hosts
“They were brilliant hosts when I went there. They did not charge us money for food whenever we went to the market, and some also gifted us shawls,” Harbhajan added
India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13 when Pakistan was on a tour to India, while India’s last visit to Pakistan was in 2008 for Asia Cup.
