The Indian squad conducted their second training session at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Monday, as they prepared for the Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh. Rishabh Pant, who had earlier incurred an injury during Sunday’s session, seemed to be on the mend, but his unease was evident on Monday.
Rishabh Pant Gets Injured
In Sunday’s practice session, Hardik Pandya was working on his hitting big and facing spinners in the nets. One of his big shots hit Pant on the knee accidentally. Team physio Kamlesh Jain immediately rushed to Pant, and Pandya also visited him.

Fortunately, it was later ascertained that the injury was not severe, and Pant resumed his practice after the batting session got over.
Pant Struggles In Monday’s Training
On Monday, however, Pant was struggling with the injury. He was limping slightly and had to avoid wicketkeeping and fielding practice according to PTI report. Even while batting in turn, he was rusty and missed and edged many deliveries, showing that he was not fully comfortable even though he had overcome the injury.

India’s Matches In Champions Trophy
India will start their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign on February 20, against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. One of India’s marquee games of the tournament will be against Pakistan, on February 23. Pakistan won the trophy defeating India by 180 runs when these two sides last met in the Champions Trophy in June 2017. India’s last Group A match will be against New Zealand on March 2.
