The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is returning back after 8-year gap, the tournament will be featuring eight teams that have been split in two groups. The venues will be Pakistan and United Arab Emirated (UAE). After a long discussion about the hybrid model it was decided that India’s matches will be played in UAE this was due to India’s strict stance to not travel to Pakistan keeping in mind the political tensions and safety issues.
Champions Trophy To Start From February 19
India and Pakistan, alongside Bangladesh and New Zealand, are in Group A, while Group B consists of Afghanistan, England, Australia, and South Africa. Pakistan, led by Mohammad Rizwan, will open the tournament on February 19 in Karachi.
Delay In India & Pakistan’s Squad Announcement
The deadline for submitting the provincial squad was January 12 and only six teams have named their squads while both India and Pakistan are still left to make their squad announcement. BCCI has reportedly asked for extension due to the fitness concerns of certain players.
