Ramiz Raja, who has experience of playing for the national cricket team of Pakistan, he was also the part in the Pakistan Cricket Board. In shocking turn of events Ramiz Raja opined that star batter Babar Azam has much cricketing left in him with regard to Test cricket as there was much to give. To bring an end to an abysmal series when Babar did not score his half-centuries in as many as 18 innings in a row, he was rested for the remaining two Tests of the Test series in England by Pakistan Cricket Board.
Ramiz Raja’s Bizzare Comparison
Raja felt that though Babar has done well in white-ball formats, he has to do better in Tests and become a big-match player like the West Indies batting legend Viv Richards. Fans will be ready to see Babar as he is going to be a part of the Pakistan side in the tour of Australia and has been included in both ODI and T20I squads. This would be the first ODI series for Pakistan after their campaign in the World Cup 2023, in which they came fifth and could not reach the semis under Babar’s leadership.

Babar Azam’s Comparison With Viv Richards
“I feel Babar has to achieve a lot more in Test cricket. He plays the white-ball format really well, has an average of 50-plus in both the formats (T20I and ODI)…There is so much potential in Babar Azam. Ab unko apne temperament se batana hai duniya mei ke woh ek Viv Richards hain (now he has to prove to the world with his temperament that he is Viv Richards). Bigger the contest, bigger the innings Richards used to play,” said Raza on his Youtube Channel.
Babar Azam Struggling With Poor Form
Babar Azam has been struggling with poor for quite a long time now. He witnessed a sharp slump in form in this WTC cycle when he could muster an average of only 22.66 in five Tests last year and 18.50 in four Tests in 2024. Babar, hasn’t scored a half-century in his last 18 Test innings and he was also left out of Pakistan’s squad for the matches against England.
Babar has had an excellent stint in limited-over cricket. He won the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year both in 2021 and 2022, and he tops the ICC ODI batting rankings. Babar is eagerly waiting to get his confidence back on track by continuing his good run in ODIs and coming back in Test cricket very strongly. This is a busy period as he will be touring with South Africa and hosting West Indies for five Tests at large.
