Cameron Green highlights one mistake his manager made while listing in IPL 2026 Auction, says ‘He didn’t…’

Cameron Green is likely to be the most expensive buy of IPL 2026 mini-auction, there are teams with largest purse like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) that could go after him.

Cameron Green has addressed one of the most puzzling details ahead of the IPL 2026 Auction which will be held on December 16. He has been listed as a batter in the auction list following which the Australian all-rounder made it clear that he wants to bowl next season. According to Green, the classification does not mean any change in role or a lingering fitness issue but it was a mere administrative error which happened during the registration.

Green made it absolutely clear during Australia’s training session in Adelaide and explained that the confusion arose because the manager by mistake selected the wrong category while submitting the documents for the auction.

“I’ll be good to bowl,” Green said before Australia’s training session in Adelaide on Sunday morning. “I don’t know if my manager would like to hear this, but there was a stuff-up on his end. He didn’t mean to say ‘batter’. I think he accidentally selected the wrong box. It was pretty funny how it’s all played out, but it was actually a stuff-up on his end.”

Cameron Green is likely to be the most expensive buy of IPL 2026 mini-auction, there are teams with largest purse like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) that could go after him. However there is a catch as he may not be able to cross the INR 18 crore mark meaning he will not be able to become the most expensive buy in the IPL history. This is because of the minimum fee rule, in this the foreign players cannot receive more than INR 18 crores. If by chance the bid exceeds the limit amount then it will be used by the BCCI for player welfare.
